Last night Milk Studios was packed with fashion insiders, bloggers, ice skaters (Johnny Weir), and even Susan Sarandon stopped by with two adorable puppies in her arms to celebrate the launch of the White Girl Problems book. The atmosphere was great and DJ Mia Moretti spinned the tunes while Kanon Vodka, an official sponsor, manned two bars. However, the best part about the event was a huge screen that kept showing popular #whitegirlproblems sayings, here are a few that I liked:
Obsession: Doo.ri Chung for Impulse Macy’s
I have always admired Doo.ri Chung’s work and when I found out that she was designing a collection for Impulse at Macy’s, I instantly became the happiest kid in town. The collection has a lot of dresses (below) that cinch at the waist, putting emphasis on the silhouette. However, my favorite look was the the dark grey jacket and pant (below)- probably due to my love for the color grey and leather pants. The collection hits stores on Feb. 15th.
Happenings: Sea of Bridal Dresses at AMSALE’s Flagship
Bridal designer and FIT alumnus, Amsale Aberra, opened the doors of her beautiful salon on Madison Ave for bloggers and industry insiders to preview her collections for AMSALE, Christos and Kenneth Pool. Each dress had impecable craftsmanship as well as intricate detailing, which made it difficult to pick a favorite one. Bloggers in attendance included: Jamie Beck of From Me To You, Keiko Lynn, Kimberly Pesch of Eat Sleep Wear,Jaimen Lee, Jessica Chu, among others.
Instagram was bombarded with pretty pictures from the event as each blogger took pictures from different angles and details on the dresses. Amsale was courteous enough to chat with each of us and give insight about her inspirations and what it really takes to make it in the bridal industry. “Design students need to have their own point-of-view but also know what it takes to make it in the industry. It’s a balance of both,” stated Amsale.
Obsession: Spratter’s & Jayne’s crochet scarves
So, today the temperatures finally dropped and real winter weather is upon us. To stay warm in style this winter check out Spratter’s & Jayne crochet pieces from Peru. My favorite piece is the one below because you can wear multiple ways and it’s super long for additional warmth and layering. I’m offering 40% off to all my readers on any piece from Spratter’s & Jayne’s site. The promo code is: S&J40
Happy Shopping (and Friday) and stay warm!
Happenings: 24 HOUR CATWALK
Last night, Lifetime’s “24 Hour Catwalk” debuted featuring host Alexa Chung but the premiere party happened last month at La Force & Steven’s James LaForce place in Soho over the holidays. The party was indian-inspired but the guests were excited to watch a sneak peek of the first episode of this much anticipated show. Basically, it is just like Project Runway (Lifetime’s other fashion-driven TV show) but each competitor has to create a collection from scratch within 24 hours, which means, lots of sweat, tears, and hard work. The judges include James LaForce, Cynthia Rowley, Alexa Chung, and Derek Blasberg.
Check out below photos from the premiere holiday party held last month:

Happenings: StyleCaster’s Holiday Par-tay (#HappyStyleCaster)
For those of you who are avid readers of StyleCaster like myself, you know that you can expect an AMAHZING Holiday Party. And yes, that’s WHAT happened this past Thursday night at W.I.P during their (#HappyStyleCaster) party which had guest DJ’s such as Chelsea Leyland, Susie G, and Neil Jackson.
The par-tay was a huge ‘see and be seen’ gathering with the coolest kids in attendance including my good friends Lindsey Calla, Jake Hammel, and Justin Livingston, to name a few. Oh yes, the gift bag was awesome too- from Bauble Bar jewelry to Pirate’s Booty snacks, everything came inside a limited edition “Style To The People” tote! Gotta love it.

Obsession: SPITFIRE Sunglasses
Yesterday, I had a mini photo shoot at Yaya Publicity with its founder Yael and I couldn’t help but try on the SPITFIRE sunglasses that were on display at her showroom! They’re futuristic with a touch of classic. Check out their web site for more awesome styles here.
I’m wearing the Clip On style in the photo below.

Happenings: Have you entered the Young, Fabulous & Broke Contest?
I have always been a fan of Young, Fabulous & Broke since I saw the line at Saks Fifth Ave about a year ago. The line has been becoming quite popular and I must share that I’m a HUGE fan of the founder of the label, Heidi Cornell. She has a great California laid-back style and was recently on Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker.”
The brand is currently running a contest called “Fabulous Broke Girl Contest” which is super easy to enter. Simply upload a video of you sharing your ‘broke girl story’ here and the winner will win a $500 shopping spree on Young, Fabulous & Broke! Also, follow them on twitter @YFBClothing.
I’m about to go submit my video right now…
